  • Lance, where do I begin? Shall I thank you for the speed in which our house was built? As you well know, one of the hidden costs of building a new home is the interest that accrues while the construction continues. Few builders will tell you that delays are not only an inconvenience, but can cost the homeowner thousands in additional interest charges. So imagine my delight as I watched our house go up – it was pure pleasure to watch our house go from foundation to paint and trim in less time than it took for my neighbors house to even get bricked! Shall I thank you for the professionalism? I especially appreciated the prompt manner in which you returned all my calls (always the same day), and the courteous manner in which you handled all my crazy ideas and questions. We especially appreciated the creative solutions and ideas that you were always willing to suggest. No challenge was too complex, and every detail was addressed. Shall I thank you for your integrity? The fact that the house came in on time and under budget should be a testimony by itself. But I know for a fact that you did not charge us for things you could have, and that other builders would have. Everything you said you would do, not only got done, but got done right. For example, while I thought the roof looked fine, you noticed the slight bend in the shingles that turned out to be a manufacturer’s defect. While it would have been easier to just ignore it, you held the manufacturer’s feet the fire and had them replace the entire roof. I am sure it was a pain, but you did it anyway because it was the right thing to do. That speaks volumes. Lastly, I need to pass along kudos to two others who made this building project of ours such a truly wonderful experience: You were terrific! Your “can do” spirit and attention to detail was awe-inspiring. Every detail, right down to the texture that surrounds a door frame, was meticulously looked after. It was clearly evident that he was not going to let anything get by him that wasn’t just right. We enjoyed working with you very much, and can’t thank him enough for the job he did! And of course, thanks to your lovely wife and accountant, Laurie. Being a numbers geek myself, I was very pleased and thankful that I always knew where we were in relation to the budget. She made sure that I always knew where we stood financially, and that allowed me to sleep peacefully at night. And I guess that is, in the end, what I have to thank you for. Building this house was not the stressful experience we had been warned about from friends who used other builders. We truly felt like we were working with friends. And not only was it a fun, exciting and very pleasant process, but we have a beautiful home, and new friends at the end of it. So thank you. For everything.
